Rare recording of live Nirvana concert

Nirvana black and white

A rare live recording made during a Nirvana concert in Cambridge (United States) in 1989 has been released a few days ago to the Internet. By that time, the band was still promoting their first record - Bleach - and no one could ever imagined the huge sucess that would follow. Accordingly to what I've read, they were only 60 people in the audience, and Dave Grohl wasn't even in the band! Chad Channing was on drums.

They have played mostly songs from Bleach and two songs from Nevermind. If you're a fan of Nirvana, I think you might like this! Give it a listen!

  5. Huh, I wonder if people are going to randomly record new bands now in hopes they one day become famous.

  7. Wasting Light" is a big guitar album, be it the jittery start (Beastie Boys' "Sabotage," anyone?) on "Bridge Burning" or the stuttering echo of the initial single, "Rope." And despite opening the album with a song titled "Bridge Burning," much of "Wasting Light" sounds like that's exactly like what the Foos are doing. It's a stunner to hear Grohl sing in a world weary voice (on "These Days") lyrics about trying to get over past pains, then suddenly breaking into a roar of protest.
